Jackalope Art Fair: Calling All Artists!

Jan 13, 2015

Jackalope_Arts_FairThey met while working for an international arts organization. They planned art events with 50+ artists every other month in their home cities, as well as Phoenix, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Seattle.

“They” are Sara of Pasadena, Laura of Phoenix, and Melissa of Denver. And together, in those respective cities, they are about to launch the bi-annual Jackalope Art Fair.

The City of Pasadena has given its blessing and now Sara is in search of 200 local artists, artisans, and crafters who would like to sell their wares in Central Park at the inaugural Jackalope Art Fair on the weekend of April 25th-26th.

The focus is on local artists and handmade items (no vintage or resale items), though some vendors may be outside of San Gabriel Valley. They are looking for makers of original fashion items, jewelry, ceramics, paper goods, home decor and housewares, and art and photography.

Booths will be 10×10, as is the norm, and the price is $250. Half booths will be available for $175 and a double booth (10×20) will cost $500. These prices do not include a tent, so that must be furnished by the artist or may be rented at an additional cost from Jackalope. The cost of the City of Pasadena’s temporary sellers permit is included in the booth rental fee. Vendors selling pre-packaged food products and who will be providing sampling to attendees must pay $97 for a temporary event health permit.

The deadline for applying is February 15th and artists will be notified of their acceptance on March 1st.
