Have you ever imagined your art work on a massive scale? Maybe as part of a backsplash on a L.A. Metro landing, along the waiting platform or concourse, filling up 2-stories of a glass pavilion wall or overhead? Or, even along a construction fence?

Metro invites visual artists residing in the United States to submit qualifications for possible inclusion in a Prequalified Artist Pool (Pool). The Pool will be used to select artists for a range of upcoming opportunities throughout the expanding Los Angeles Metro system, including 14 new Metro Rail stations and a variety of transit enhancement projects.

Project budgets are anticipated to range from $50,000 to $1,000,000 depending on the artwork opportunity. Prior public art experience is not a requirement. The Pool will be active for a three year period. (Metro.net)

The last workshop at this time is on Monday, March 24th at LACMA. Visit Metro.net/art, click “Artist Opportunities,” and register for their email distribution. Here is theĀ “Call to Artists” pdf and information on deadlines.
