Art on Palm 2014

May 8, 2014

Art on Palm fairIt’s a decade “in” and Art on Palm is going strong. Altadena’s art and craft festival celebrates its tenth anniversary on May 10th with 40 artists and musicians gathering to exhibit and perform.

Nestled in the secluded canyon of Wild Wood Park with its ancient oaks, Art on Palm is free, child-friendly, and even dog-friendly.

Artists on exhibit include Mary Jane Elgin (Art on Palm co-founder); wildly unique glass, bronze, and copper artist Evan Chambers; Leaf Motif creator Catherine Cowles; watercolorist Kathleen Swaydan; textile designer and photographer Louise Wannier; and ceramicist Jim Heuston.

In prior years, Art on Palm has raised a total of $15,000 for the Greater L.A. Fisher House. This year, proceeds will benefit the Creative Arts Group of Sierra Madre, which “provides quality art experiences and instruction to augment dwindling arts programs in public schools.”

Light refreshments will be available and live music will be performed by A Boy Named Drew and BULLFISH.

The setting can’t be topped. We’ve even gone in the pouring rain and it was a fun time—and emptied our pocketbook.
