Food Drive, Scavenger Hunt & Authors’ Events

Nov 10, 2015

Joselyn_HughesVroman’s Bookstore has teamed up with Friends in Deed for a holiday food drive. During store hours on November 14 and 15, Vroman’s will have stations set up around the store, accepting dry and canned goods, and “shelf-stable food products.”

Food item ideas: Canned tuna, peanut butter, canned chicken, cereal, rice, cooking oil, sugar, and flour. Pasta, oats, powdered milk, canned chili, canned beef stew, dry beans. Jelly or jam, tomato and spaghetti sauces, and soups.

To learn more, visit (including details about its Christmas tree sale; taking orders beginning November 16).

To kick off the food drive, Vroman’s presents its Annual Fall Scavenger Hunt, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., which takes folks all around the city—teams of 4 to 5 persons is suggested. Take pictures of items found, get more points, more chance of prizes including a year’s pass to Magic Castle.
