12227712_934273926620856_3898976547120191981_nCentury Books is for people who love books; love to browse, peruse and read a little; who like Persian rugs, wood floors, graceful tables, natural light, and old English-type, large muntin windows; who don’t mind stacks of books on the floor (similar to the stacks we have in our own home) and enjoy a good chat (with owners Judith and Steve); who are grateful for great customer service; and who never walk out of a bookstore empty-handed.

On Thursday, December 17, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Century Books joins the merchants on Green Street between Mentor and Wilson Avenues for a “Christmas Celebration @ Green Street Village Pasadena.” Music, holiday nibbles, and discounts are promised, but we never need an excuse to visit a tried and true independent bookstore.

On Saturday, December 19, at 5 p.m., Century Books presents “A Short History of Chocolate” by Dr. Lee Scott Theisen who will talk about “the social, scientific, economic, and cultural impact of chocolate.” Along the way, four dark chocolates will be tasted by guests, but only if you RSVP in time as space is limited (RSVP to Cost of admission: buy a book of your choice.
