This week we don’t have a book review or a promotion for an author’s event or book release. We have Book Alley.
And as much as we love Vroman’s, Century Books, and Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse, we’re just as happy to have Book Alley within reach.
Even though it’s only 24 years old, Book Alley feels like an historic Pasadena institution. For a used bookstore, it is huge with over 50,000 titles, and subjects ranging from literary criticism and social science to comics, graphic novels, and true crime.
And, Book Alley is open seven days a week. Not that we don’t want people to have their day of rest (or two), but we love knowing that when we finish a book more quickly than anticipated, we have somewhere to go for our next fix, even if it’s on a Sunday evening.
Book Alley, 1252 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena 91106. Phone: 1.626.683.8083. Hours: 11 a.m.-7 p.m., seven days a week. BookAlley.com.
I love Book Alley! You can always find something wonderful there. They have a great collection of classic children’s hardbacks, too.
