There are birthdays, and then there are birthdays.
This last weekend there were two celebrations that took place.
LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is now one year old.
Lovely celebration took place Saturday, complete with cake for a thousand, prepared by students of the Manual Arts high School culinary program – an introduction to the “art of food”. Thanks to Supervisor Gloria Molina for her support of this cultural center.
Sunday there was a lot of dancing going on. Seemed a fitting thing for an 82 year old who the Chicano community was wishing a happy birthday.
So much dancing the the birthday girl took more than a stroll on the dance floor.
Medal of Freedom recipient Dolores Huerta, had stories shared about her work in social justice.
Dancing with Dan Guerrero she shared how fun it can be to celebrate your birthday
with a swing your step.
